Mental Health ~ We All A Little "Crazy"

Yes. I said it. We all "Crazy". Remember that the next time you shake your head or point your finger at that person doing something "absurd" in your opinion. With that being said, like everything else in this life there are different levels involved. How "Crazy" are you and what elements would decrease or increase your deranged mind state. It is a fact that the mixing of genes within the same bloodline has an impact on mental development. Whether you believe in one person, two people, a few people, or atoms setting the stage for the beginning of civilization it can be concluded in either case that there has been a lot of mixing of the same bloodlines to get us to this point of population. This fact plus social conditioning throughout the centuries has got us to our current platform of Mental health issues. The human body is built to adapt or correct physical or mental abnormalities naturally. The problem lies when these adaptations are disturbed or interrupted by events in ones own life or traumatic experiences genetically passed down through one's bloodline. So the "Crazy" is inside you, however triggers are necessary to increase your level of "Crazy" or corrupt your moral compass.

The word "Crazy" is written in quotations because crazy is defined by the social environment in which you live. If a person runs through a neighborhood in a city naked, they can be labeled as "Crazy", however running around in a village naked in another country could be considered normal. Also people who often color outside the lines, think outside the box, or go against the grain are considered "Crazy". If you are not doing what everyone else is doing or thinking what everyone else is thinking then there must be something wrong with you.

So in dealing with "Crazy" you need to self reflect before passing judgement. Analyze yourself and explore your "Crazy". What things do you do (in private or public) that may not align to what other people might do. Which is why you may keep certain behaviors as personal secrets. If you felt your behaviors were normal you would not feel ashamed to openly express your actions. If someone shoots up a church, school, mall, etc. and kills several people, we need to analyze the elements surrounding the tragic incidents and figure out what the triggers were. The fact that the person has mental health issues is obvious. We need to resolve the type of events that cause the triggers because we are all capable of carrying out such tragic mayhem, it is just a matter of how much you would have to be mentally pushed to do so. In your right mind you would be reading this article and say....I would never!.....Just remember that once that trigger is set you will no longer be in your "right" mind. Mental illness is here to stay, however we can combat the triggers that offset moral behavior. This is done by first self reflecting finding and dealing with one's own "Crazy". Everyone is built different and will have different triggers, we have to remain focused on what these triggers are and how to eliminate them to prevent future incidents.

Suicide: Rest in Peace Anthony Bourdain. I have always been a big fan of Bourdain because of so many common elements to include my love for the culinary arts, traveling, embracing different cultures, and direct personality. I said to myself "he had to be "crazy" to kill himself with such a life. His death has taught me that your triggers can be set off in any environment, good or bad. Though it is important to remain aware of your surroundings, don't let your surroundings or the people in it consume you.

We all a little "Crazy" .....Love yourself, find a purpose, live life.
